A raccoon caused mass anxiety with onlookers in Minnesota on Tuesday. It became stranded on a ledge on the 20th story of the UBS building. Animal control placed a trapped and cat food on the roof in hopes they could lure it to safety. It worked. Wednesday morning, the raccoon made it to the roof of the building, but not before becoming an internet sensation. A local radio station created a hashtag - #mprraccoon and a twitter account was created for the raccoon. Employees in the building were even tweeting their good luck sentiments.
He is on the ledge on our floor. He seems to be doing well. We’ve been told that the building has live traps on the roof and are trying to get him to go up there. We all just have to keep our fingers crossed.. #mprraccoon pic.twitter.com/HY1PkuFKz0— Paige Donnelly law (@donnelly_law) June 12, 2018
Twitter users watched the story for hours. It's still trending on twitter. And everyone breathed a sigh of relief when it made it's way to the roof.
