How to Fit Relaxation into a Busy Schedule

We are such busy people that often times we are go, go, go and spend no time for rest. Relaxing helps to keep your health in check as well as keep stress levels down. If you find yourself too busy too often, try these tips for fitting a little relaxation into your day.

.) Make a Record of Your Day - The first step into fitting rest and relaxation into your schedule is to figure out where you can put it.

.) Outsource Your Activities - You can do anything, but you can't do everything. Delegate to other people the things you hate doing or the things you are bad at.

.) Just. Say. No. - Don't take on more that you can handle. Take the opportunities that make sense for your lifestyle and vision, then say 'No, thank you" to the rest.

.) Focus On Your Breath - If you can't make it to the spa, spend just a few minutes focusing on breathing. Take a slow deep breath in through your nose and exhale through your mouth. Count to two and do it again.

.) Take a Break From Electronics - You're not really relaxing if you're focusing on social media or emails.

.) Laugh - Laughter reduces stress, soothes tension, relieves pain, stimulates organs and improves your immune system.

.) Two Words. Nap Time - Embrace nap time by setting aside 20 to 30 minutes for a nap. Naps improve performance, alertness and energy. Set an alarm so that you don't oversleep.

.) Meditate - Meditate first thing in the morning so that you can breathe deeply and clear your head before the chaos of the day.

.) Enjoy the Shower - Instead of making it a chore, use the time to be mindful of how your body and mind feel. You can even add in aromatherapy for extra relaxation.

.) Automate Mundane Chores - Have your paycheck automatically deposit into your account and put your bills on autopay. Create recurring orders for household products that you frequently buy.

.) Make an Appointment With Yourself - You need "you-time". If you write personal time on your schedule the way you do appointments, you're more likely to actually do it. Join a yoga class, get a massage or a pedicure so that you'll have a guaranteed place to relax.
