After learning that a maintenance worker for the Aurora Police Department in Illinois lost her car in a fire and that this single mom has to get her child to Chicago for medical treatment, Tim Oros wanted to help. He’s the owner of Mr. Wonderful Motorsports and when the police department raised $2,600 to buy a new car for the worker, he asked the officers to give her the money directly and donated the car to her instead.
“I’ve owned an auto body shop in Aurora for the last 30 years,” Oros says, adding that it’s his duty to give back to the community. And to recognize his good deed, the Aurora Police Department has given him a Citizen Commendation Award. He says, “I was proud to do it.”
