Hump Day Happy Hour: Vets Use Art as Therapy

Local vets are using arts as therapy in Saratoga. At  "Create Community Studios" there's a very special art show, put on by a program called "Art 4 Vets", which aims to give veterans a place to express themselves and make friends.

Organizer Penny-Lee Deere of SupportOurTroops.com, says it's been a great effort for everyone.

The group doesn't just do art — they also kayak, do equestrian therapy and yoga together.

A Cafeteria manager at an elementary school in Virginia has discovered that they key to making kids feel motivated may lie in bananas. She started it with her own kids at home by writing inspirational messages... on bananas. She then packed them in their lunches. The kids loved it so much that she started doing the same thing for the kids at school.

And finally, we know the huge technology gap between parents and their kids and even grandparents and their grandkids. Well, a new group is matching teens up with senior citizens. It's called "teeniors" and it's a chance for them to work together with the teens giving the older generation lessons in things like iPhones, Alexa and tablets and in return, the kids see how their knowledge helps empower seniors.
