Shaker Grad Petitions for Change at Holland Tunnel

Former Shaker student Cory Windelspecht now lives in New Jersey and frequently travels into New York City using the Holland Tunnel. For the last 10 years he has become progressively more annoyed by the decorations hung on the tunnel entrance. And it isn't because he hates Christmas.

In his Facebook post he says "You're here to celebrate the best time of year, you're in the best city in the world and you come in and you see that tree on that N, you just go 'ahh!' It's brutal."

He has now started a petition to get the decorations changed. He is asking the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to move the tree from the N to the A. He has over 1,800 signatures.

Windelspect will speak at a port authority meeting Thursday, where he hopes to convince them to make the change. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is in charge of the decorations.

The Port Authority actually responded to Windelspect's petition and has started a poll themselves to see if there is a big enough desire to have the decorations moved.

Budweiser has also responded to the decorations on the Holland Tunnel with their decorations.
