Shelter dogs usually face two futures, either with a family or with other dogs at rainbow bridge. The longer the dog is at a shelter, the lower their chance of being adopted. Pit bulls have the additional burden of being... well, a pit bull.
Roxy the Pit Bull spent nearly a decade in an animal shelter, which is pretty much unheard of. But, she finally has gotten her forever home. A dog groomer adopted her over the holidays. However, it wasn't love at first site. The groomer spent two months visiting Roxy at the shelter getting to know her.
Roxy is making the adjustment to a quiet house after all of those years in a noisy shelter. She sleeps a lot and seems to enjoy the peace and quiet.
