Happy Hour: Two Albany Military Moms Surprise Kids with Homecoming

It was an emotional and long-awaited surprise reunion for two sisters and their children on Friday. Staff Sergeant Jessica Gonzalez and her sister, Specialist Erica Gonzalez, both serve in the Army National Guard and had been deployed in Kuwait among other places and have been gone since March of last year. The sisters surprised their children at Hackett Middle School on Friday afternoon. Erica's son Christopher and Jessica's daughter Bree are both in the sixth grade. The principal at the school called them both out of their classrooms at the same time and once in the hallway, they saw their moms... and the tears of joy soon followed. Christopher says they've tried to keep in touch but nothing replaces hugging his mom in person.

The family says they are planning a special family vacation to celebrate after a few days of R and R.

A woman was running a marathon in Thailand when at mile 7 she noticed something in the road. Other runners were dodging it and stepping over or around it. Turns out... it was a puppy. It was a remote area not near any houses or other dogs, so the runner picked it up and carried it with her for the next 19 miles.

She crossed the finish line with him and then tried to find the owner. When that failed, she took him to the vet to get him checked out, and then kept him.
