A World War II Veteran is running across the United States for the second time. A few years ago, he became the oldest person to ever run across the country, at 93. It took him a couple of years to run from San Diego to Georgia. Now, he's doing it in reverse. He's 95 and has it all planned out, estimating that he'll get to his destination just after his 100th birthday.
He just started his run this past Saturday and you can follow his progress on his blog.
Out near Binghamton, April the Giraffe has done it again. She has given birth to a calf with a whole lot of people watching. Last time around, millions watched the Giraffe-Cam, waiting for April to give birth. This time 300,000 were watching via the web. Animal Adventure Park owner Jordan Patch says the new baby boy is doing very well.
The baby giraffe will be named through a contest, just like Tajiri, April's calf born in April 2017.
We are now just about a month-and-a-half from the WGY Radiothon for the Children's Hospital at Albany Medical Center and there are always great stories to tell.
A bunch of special, robotic therapy ducks were just delivered to the hospital to give kids getting cancer treatments comfort and emotional support. Among other things, the "My Special Aflac Duck" has emoji-like disks that the kids put on the front of the robot that let them share their emotions and let the doctors and nurses know how they're feeling.
Aflac has invested 3 million dollars in the program, distributing more than 2,500 ducks free of charge nationwide to children diagnosed with cancer.
