TSA Flags Woman Carrying 20 Bags of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos in Luggage

A social-media star says she was flagged by a Transportation Security Administration agent for transporting multiple bags of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos through airport security.

Emily Mei, who goes by Emily Ghoul on Twitter, tweeted a video of the incident on October 4, which has garnered over 1.6-million views.

“Will never forget the day TSA stopped me cuz they thought i was hiding s - - t inside my bag cuz all i had was like 20 bags of Hot Cheetos,” she wrote.

The clip shows a TSA agent removing bags of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos out of a Louis Vuitton Keepall duffel bag and performing swab tests to check for chemicals that might be used as explosives.

According to a follow-up tweet, Mei says she packed the cheesy munchies due to their scarcity in Korea.

“For everyone who’s asking why i had so many bags of Hot Cheetos, apparently it’s hard to get in Korea so my friends always ask me to bring it for them LOL,” she wrote.

The viral video generated sympathetic responses from fellow travelers, such as “They hate to see you win” and “This is the hero we’ve been waiting for.” Some commiserators even recounted their own “woeful” tales of TSA snack-jacking.

This past spring, the TSA unveiled a list of the oddest items it has confiscated, including a Freddy Krueger-style glove with razors for claws and a guitar shaped like an automatic rifle.
