Rick Gervais Calls Out Hollywood Hypocrites During Golden Globes Monologue

The 77th annual Golden Globe Awards were last night. Ricky Gervais returned to host the kudofest for his fifth time, tearing into Hollywood for his first time at the podium since 2016.

The British funnyman’s savage opening monologue went as expected – and as he warne– it was brutal. To the surprise of nobody, shots were taken at Felicity Huffman and William H Macy over “Operation Varsity Blues.” Plus, Gervais called Joe Pesci “Baby Yoda” and got some groans from the crowd with his Jeffrey Epstein joke in reference to his Netflix show, “After Life.”Even Leonardo DiCaprio couldn’t help but accept his fate when Gervais called out his dating habits. “Leo DiCaprio attended the premiere [of ‘Once Upon A Time In Hollywood’]," Gervais cracked. "And by the end, his date was too old for him."
