In South Carolina, tis the season for porch pirates. And one of them was done in by a doorbell cam and a lucky t-shirt.
He stole a bunch of packages off some porches in a neighborhood.. A few of the neighbors shared their surveillance photos on Facebook with a warning to be on the lookout for this guy, and he was wearing a backpack, and bright green north face shirt.
The very next day, a guy showed up in court to answer charges on an unrelated crime. Wearing the *same green North Face shirt*. Police compared the photos, and was obvious it was the same person, and charged him with the package thefts.
And finally, we end not with a stupid criminal, but a stupid doctor.
We know there are con artists everywhere, but this is a new one. A doctor was treating an older woman, and her two adult sons would come along with her to her appointments. They started telling the doctor about this "genie" that lived in a lamp at their house. The more they told the doctor about the genie, the more he believed it.
They offered to sell him the lamp, Genie and all, for 200-thousand dollars. Well, the doctor believed them and gave them a 40-thousand down payment, after he witnessed the genie himself.
They even summoned the genie to perform some miracles. But it turns out, it was just one of the sons dressed in an Aladdin costume. It was at that point he realized he had been scammed. He went to police, and they have been arrested, but the mother - if she was even actually their mother- is still on the run.
