Of all the stupid things said at a Cuomo press briefing, and believe me, I do mean ALL THE STUPID THINGS, this one may be the stupidest (at least recently). So Andrew Donovan of Central NY television asked a reasonable, obvious question: with all the restrictions / curfews being lifted EXCEPT for bars and restaurants, why not lift those in time for this weekend’s March Madness games, which happen to involve Syracuse? That would certainly help struggling bars and restaurants out… a lot. The answer to Andrew’s question SHOULD have been, “yeah, that’s a great idea and we are going to make that happen.” Instead, the Governor kicked the question to Howard Zucker, who cited the policy with the Buffalo Bills playoff games from TWO MONTHS AGO, and that policy was basically ‘too bad restaurants).
