Thank God we have Governor Andrew Cuomo to cradle us (figuratively of course) in his big, burly arms and make us feel safe from harm. Superman....ur...the governor, was at it again yesterday, donning his special fleece and spiffy white cap, blessing us with his vast and impressive knowledge after a barge carrying 2.5 million gallons of gas ran aground on the Hudson River near Catskill. Who needs someone from the Coast Guard, or a hydraulic engineer or a maritime navigation expert to explain the situation when we can have Andrew Cuomo step to the mic? Cuomo took center stage, stood proudly at the podium and proclaimed of the grounded-barge, "This wasn't just a little bit off course. Obviously, this was a lot off course." Thank you Governor Cuomo. Until you bravely shared your maritime and engineering expertise yesterday, I had no idea that barges should float freely in water instead of being jammed into the ground. Brilliant.
By the way, how's the state budget going? I think it was due on April 1.
Kelly and I talked about Governor Superhero and also about the big vote at Shen. Voters gave a resounding "NO" to a plan to sell school district land to a developer and the turnout was huge. Despite that, it's not the last we've heard of this matter. - Chuck
