Happy Hour: Troy Boy Set Up Lemonade Stand for Cadet Post 41-02

A 10-year-old opened-up for business in Troy last month, selling lemonade and it's all for a good cause.

Johnny MacWhinnie set up shop in front of his home on Third Avenue in Lansingburgh. He has always wanted to be a police officer so among those he helps with his profits is Cadet Post 41-02, a group that helps bridge the gap between law enforcement and youth. Troy police officers got wind of the lemonade stand and came out to support the local business.  This is the third year Johnny has had the lemonade stand, raising hundreds of dollars for the cadet post along the way

A local 8-year old from Cohoes, who is very calm under pressure, is being credited with saving his grandmother's life. A couple of weeks ago, 8-year old Julian Mellon's grandmother went into cardiac arrest and he sprung into action, staying calm, calling 9-1-1 and staying on the line until help arrived.

First responders say Julian's efforts made all the difference. He was even able to provide important medical details about his grandmother and assist them when they arrived. His grandmother says she always knew the third-grader was special.

Cohoes first responders were so impressed by his Julian's actions, their union awarded him a bike!

An Atlanta woman and her sister were set to attend Backstreet Boys concert, until she found out that she had leukemia and could no longer go. She is undergoing treatment at the hospital. Well, when the nursing staff found out that she had to forego the concert they decided to bring the concert to her. They filled her room, and sang her Backstreet Boys songs, and had a dance party in her room

When the video was tweeted out, band member nick carter saw it, and tweeted back ““We missed you last night Looks (and sounds) like you have a great team helping you get better. We’re thinking of you and sending you love… To the nurses of Northside Cancer Center, thank you for all you do!!”
