A Troy middle school teacher has gone above and beyond the call of duty. When 7th grader Mariah was struggling, 8th Grade ELA teacher Hope DeBevoise offered to come to her home to help her with her school work. Mariah's mom agreed to meet her halfway because she felt that Ms. DeBevoise was already going above and beyond. So, Mariah and Ms. DeBevoise set up their chairs in the parking lot of the Latham Target and got to work.
Mariah was also gifted a rainbow notebook and pens by her teacher, but she also received encouragement and nurturing.
