Do you remember when Kathy Hochul first became Governor and she would tell anybody who would listen, “it’s not going to be like it was, I am going to listen. I want local communities involved, and I want to hear from locals on issues that affect them.”
Well, tell it to the people of Cambridge Governor. This week they were ORDERED by the State (specifically the new Education Commissioner) to lose the ‘Indian’ mascot and nickname associated with its high school.
This despite the fact that the locals in Cambridge took to the polls this year and specifically voted in school board members who wanted to keep the Indian mascot.
Is it me, or does it seem like the government is always interested in my opinion as long as it mirrors theirs, but if it doesn’t…
