Cemetery Unhappy With Family's Secret Message on Father's Headstone

Steven Paul Owens was 59 when he died last year and his headstone is causing a buzz.

The words engraved on it say "Forever in our hearts, until we meet again, cherished memories, known as our son, brother, father, papa, uncle, friend & cousin."

Anyone who knew Owens can see a hidden word in the message and it’s naughty. The “F” bomb was one of his favorite words and his daughter explains "If he said that to you, it meant he liked you. If he didn't like you, he didn't talk to you."

The Camp Township Board of Trustees, who oversee the cemetery, rejected the message, but the family put it in anyway. Now there’s a legal battle brewing that could see the stone removed.
