Two videos show bucketfuls of water hurled toward cops as onlookers watch. One incident is said to have taken place in Harlem and the other in Brooklyn.
NYPD Chief of Department Terence Monahan posted a still image of the ricocheting bucket on his Twitter account, where he called the video “reprehensible.”
NY Post reports police are blaming Mayor Bill de Blasio for a “hands-off approach to these guys”.
One NYPD Supervisor quoted by the Post warns “today it’s a bucket of water. Tomorrow it could be a bucket of cement.”
The union that represents New York Police Officers, the NYPD Police Benevolent Association,wrote that “The politicians may not care about the dangerous levels of chaos in our neighborhoods”.
