See The Similarities: Pete Buttigieg Accused Of Plagiarism On The Stump

Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg is being called out now for ripping off lines from Barack Obama.

Liberal writer Eoin Higgins tweeted a clip of Buttigieg’s speech over the weekend where he said "if we can light up a high school gym...then we can light a neighborhood. If we can light up a neighborhood—we can light a city. If we can light up a city—we can light up our country...”

Higgins clip included an Obama speech from 2008 where he said “One voice can change a room. And if it can change a room, it can change a city. And if it can change a city, it can change a state. And if it can change a nation, it can change the world.”

Higgins noted, “placing Buttigieg’s imitation of the most rhetorically gifted politician of my lifetime alongside the real thing really shows the difference between a shoddy, dime store knockoff and the designer product”.

Meghan McCain also noticed Buttigieg’s campaign tweeting out lines similar to Obama.

Kyle Kashuv also tweeted out side by side clips of Buttigieg and Obama with Buttigieg using very similar lines on the stump.

Kashuv tweeted, “So it turns out Pete Buttigieg is just blatantly plagiarizing Barack Obama. Cmon man at least come up woth your own platitudes...”
