Group Of Fathers In South Carolina Tackle & Detain Man Accused Of Peeping

A registered sex offender is now facing a number of charges in South Carolina following a peeping incident in the ladies restroom of a restaurant.

Thanks to a group of fathers, the suspect was tackled and held until the po-po arrived.

It all went down in Duncan, South Carolina.

WSPA-TV reports:

According to Duncan Police Chief Carl Long, a 15-year-old girl claims that a man — identified as 53-year-old Douglas Lane, of Charlotte, NC — was looking at her while she was in the women’s bathroom at Cracker Barrel, located at 1525 E. Main St in Duncan. She said she noticed something moving at her feet and realized it was a man’s head coming from the stall beside her.
When the girl left the restroom, she told her father, who then got a female employee to get him out of the bathroom.
Long said the girl’s father confronted Lane at the entrance to the bathroom area of the restaurant...
According to Long, Lane tried to get away, but other fathers aware of the incident reportedly helped tackle Lane in the parking lot and restrained him until police arrived.
Lane’s phone was found on the bathroom floor and was taken by police.

Po-po say that Lane is a registered sex offender and has been charged for peeping multiple times in the past.

WYFF-TV reports that Lane:

“was convicted of secretly peeping into an occupied room in 2004 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, records show. The record says the victims were 8 and 9 years old.
In 2008, records show Lane was convicted of secretly peeping into an occupied room, also in Mecklenburg County. The victim in this case was 18 years or older, records show.
The South Carolina sex offender registry says Lane was convicted of peeping, voyeurism or aggravated voyeurism in South Carolina in 1997 and failure to register in 1999.”

Hats off to the fathers who tackled and held Lane.
