In this episode of Upstate Issues, Todd Cramer, President and CEO of Mohawk Hudson Humane Society talks about the traditional and new services they are offering for small animals, like cats, dogs, rabbits and birds. Behavioral health services are essential and Cramer says when an animal feels affection it positively affects their physical health. Staff and volunteers work tirelessly with the animals to cover all their needs to prepare them for adoption. Cramer also explains how they are helping people care for the pets already existing in their homes. Mohawk Hudson is frequently called in to assist with animal hoarding cases. In this podcast Cramer talks about understanding the mental health issues that sometimes contribute to hoarding.
