Plan in Place for Town of Milton to Buy Scout Camp Boyhaven

Camp Boyhaven

The town of Milton is trying, so far, without success, to purchase the 300 acre Camp Boyhaven.

And even though the town missed a deadline to seal the deal, they're still trying.

And this time, it looks like they want to put some money down.

The town board has agreed to give Twin Rivers Council of the Boy Scouts a nonrefundable, one time payment of $20,000, if the council agrees not to sell the land to anyone else for 90 days.

The town has been struggling for weeks with the purchase.

The original plan was for an anonymous donor to put up half of the $1 million price tag, but that fell through.

Officials say they have $120,000 in pledges from other groups.
