Happy Hour: First Baby of 2019 Born in Glens Falls

Congratulations go out to the parents of the first baby born in the Capital Region in 2019.

Mom Reiva Ashline and Dad Shawn Ballard welcomed their baby boy at Glens falls Hospital at 1:40 am on New Years Day.

So congrats to them , and welcome to the world, Baby Boy Colton.

In the middle of the Caribbean waters, two fisherman had been lost at sea for two weeks. They drifted into unfamiliar waters while sleeping one night and then ran out of gas. They floated for two weeks until a Royal Caribbean Cruise ship spotted their emergency light. The crew of the Empress of the Seas picked them up, checked them out by the ship's doctor, fed them and took them to a hospital in Jamaica where they are expected to be just fine. In addition to that, the crew collected about 300 dollars for the fisherman to help them buy some food and clothes.

The luck of the whole thing was that the ship wasn't even supposed to be in the area at the time. They changed their cruise itinerary due to bad weather and was headed to Ochos Rios which put them in the right place at the right time to make the rescue.
