A writer's simple safety check of the door's in her lyft ride has gone viral. Tiffany Jackson, a Brooklyn writer tweeted a conversation she had with her Lyft driver that has been retweeted over 3,000 times.
The writer opened and closed the door immediately after getting into her ride share. She did this to ensure that there were no child locks that would prevent her from getting out of the car in an emergency.
Passenger safety has become a concern this year after a college student wrongfully got into a car that she thought was her Uber and was killed.
Another safety measure is to check the license plate of the car as well as the photo of the driver in comparison to the person driving. Both Uber and Lyft also allow passengers to share their trip details with another person.
