There has been some confusion for local leaders about Governor Cuomo's criteria for New York to reopen its economy. Cuomo on Monday laid out several benchmarks that each of the state's 10 regions need to meet and as of now none of the regions qualify. Criteria includes available hospital capacity and increased contact tracing. Rensselaer County Executive Steve McLaughlin told WGY's Chuck and Kelly his county is ready to start up again at any moment.

McLaughlin says he wants to open Rensselaer County on its own and not have to take direction from a regional economic development council. He says he expects any plan delivered to the Governor by local leaders to be rejected.

You can hear the interview with Steve McLaughlin in it's entirety below.
