With 43 states now qualifying for New York State's quarantine list, Governor Cuomo is considering ending the state mandated 14 day quarantine for out of state travelers.

In his press hearing yesterday, Cuomo posed the question "Is there a better, smarter way to handle a quarantine?" Rather than the current two week quarantine, experts are saying that quick testing is a smarter option.

The question of whether or not the quarantine is the best option came to light when New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania became eligible for the quarantine list. However, due to the amount of commuters within the states, Cuomo has stated that it is unrealistic for the economy to quarantine those who perhaps work in one state and live in another.

Cuomo also indicated that technology and testing advancements have evolved the strategies used to combat the Covid-19 pandemic.

Additionally, measures are getting set up to begin vaccinating New Yorkers as early as November. The vaccinations will be available in phases with the first phase restricted to healthcare and frontline workers. The general public could being vaccinations in early 2021.
