Governor Cuomo got a big no from one of the vaccine companies.
Drug maker Pfizer says it would need approval from the feds if it were to sell coronavirus vaccine doses directly to New York State. Governor Andrew Cuomo sent a letter to Pfizer asking to work directly with the New York-based company.
Pfizer says it needs the okay from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services before doing that. Cuomo has been increasingly frustrated with the federal government for not increasing supply shipments.
One official in the incoming Biden Administration says selling to states could cause problems because then states may end up bidding against each other.
