With President Trump's orders on immigration and refugees set to go before an appeals court Tuesday, a native of Mexico has been sentenced for his fifth illegal entry into the United States.
Jose Alejandro Balderas-Figeruoa, a 36-year-old who was arrested just before Christmas south of the Canadian border in Champlain, NY has been sentenced in federal court to time served (six weeks in jail), and has been turned over to Homeland Security for deportation.
However, it’s not the first time he's been caught.
The U.S. Attorney's office says Figueroa admitted to coming back across the border almost immediately after he was deported in October.
He also admitted he's been deported back to Mexico four other times dating back to June 2000.
