Nine Dead Dogs Found in the Town of Stratford

State police say they found nine dead dogs at an address on County Route 104 in the Town of Stratford.  13 more dogs were found in various states of emaciation.  The dogs, French Mastiffs, were confined both in the house and outside in makeshift kennels and cages. 

State police say the dogs had no water or food and it is unknown when the dogs were last fed.

The surviving dogs are being fostered at the Brennan Humane Society in Mayfield.  

Troopers believe they have located the man they identify as the owner of the dogs: Bentley Valdez.  He is expected to return from downstate today.
