The New York Racing Association has released the full schedule for the 2017 summer meet at Saratoga.
The 40-day racing season starts July 21 and runs through Labor Day. There will be 69 stakes races worth almost $19 million in prize money. Highlight of the meet is the $1.25 million Travers Stakes for 3-year-olds on Saturday, August 26.
NYRA also has announced that the Grade 1 King's Bishop race held on Travers Day will be renamed in honor of H. Allen Jerkens, recognizing the legendary late trainer's contributions to the sport of horse racing.
