Mayor Joanne Yepsen is sending an open letter to the Saratogians telling them that she will not run for re-election. Yepsen says serving as mayor of the city has been the highlight of her career. The Democrat is serving her second term, having first been elected in 2013.
Instead, Yepsen says she is endorsing Deputy Mayor Meg Kelly's run for the job. Last week, Mark Baker announced himself as a Republican candidate for mayor.
He used to run the Saratoga Springs City Center, and was President of the Downtown Business Association.
