A horse had to be euthanized at Saratoga Race Course after running Friday afternoon's third race.
This occurred after the horse, Angels Seven, injured its right-front leg during the race.
It is the first horse to be euthanized during this year's racing meet.
Three horses have died this year at Saratoga while training.
Also at the track yesterday, jockey Rajiv Maragh won his first race at Saratoga since 2014 in the first race aboard Big Mara.
Maragh missed more than a year of racing time, after breaking his vertebrae during a fall in a race at Belmont two years prior, in 2015.
