Vigil for Double Murder In Glens Falls

A Saturday night candlelight vigil was held in Glens Falls on South Street, outside of the apartment that was the home for 33-year-old Crystal Riley, and her 4-year-old daughter Lilly Frasier.

Riley and her daughter were found by Riley's mother on Friday morning, stabbed to death.

News Channel 13 spoke with neighbor Mary Anne Johnson, who is still in shock by the tragedy.

"I'm just heartbroken that someone can do that to a woman and her baby, I don't even know what else to say."

Other neighbors also felt the grief over this unfortunate crime.

"Everybody around here has kids, and nobody knew what the motive was, and still don't, really, but the neighbors were definitely scared."

"She was an awesome person, she was a great mother, she took excellent care of her children, she worked very, very hard."

Charged with the double homicide is 21-year-old Bryan Redden, who is facing one count of first degree murder and two counts of second degree murder.

Police say that Redden had a recent relationship with Riley.

He remains in Warren County Jail without bail, and is due back in court on Tuesday, after pleading not guilty, but that might not happen if the case goes before a grand jury.
