A longtime tradition is being held in our area.
The 46th Annual Festival of Nations at the Empire State Plaza Convention Center, in Albany.
Chairman Manoj Ajmera spoke to News Channel 13, and says this is a great event for families.
"The great thing is they get to learn about different culture, different food, different dances, and they can ask questions if they so choose to."
He adds that a number of nations will be represented.
"We have 25 nations from around the world who are involved with preparing for this festival, and they have a lot of pride because we've been around 46 years, all the representatives from different countries plan the whole festival."
Manoj says the fun starts after the doors have already opened.
"We open the doors at 11:30, and in about 15 minutes or so, we start the Parade of Nations, and then after that, opening remarks, and the National Anthem, and then the continuous dancing will start."
The actual event runs from 12 to 5 PM.
The price for adults is $5, and children ages 3 to 12 can get in for $2.
Great ethnic food will be available all day, for both dine-in and to-go.
Dancing will also be featured, with dancers in their native costumes.
