Mother and Daughter Killed in Fire

A mother and daughter are dead following a house fire in Corinth.  

39-year-old Tonya Slimmer and her 15-year-old daughter, Briaunna, were killed when fire destroyed their house on Main St. in Corinth on Monday morning.  Saratoga County Sheriff Michael Zurlo says three others who were in the house at the time, including two children, were rescued.

"We were able to grab two young children out," Zurlo said.  "They were transported to Saratoga Hospital, and later transferred to Albany Med."  No immediate word on their condition.

Slimmer, who has 9 children all in all, was said to be packing to go see one of her sons graduate from Marine Corps boot camp.  

There's no word yet on the cause of the fire.  The house is said to be a to be a total  loss.
