The Troy City council has passed a new trash fee.
The fee amounts to about $160 for city residents.
7 of the 9 residents who spoke at last night's council meeting opposed it.
Council President Carmella Mantello also opposes the fee, and tells News Channel 13 it is simply too much.
"It was a slap in the face to the voters, you can't get blood from a stone, they paid 14-and-a-half percent tax increase last year, now $160 tax, you know, at some point, it has to end."
Mayor Patrick Madden, who called the meeting, was not in attendance, as the council approved the fee, 5-4.
