27 Arrested During Albany Protest, One Trooper Injured

Troopers arrested 27 protesters during Monday afternoon's Poor People's march in Albany.

Most of the arrests were related to blocking traffic in the area of the Empire State Plaza.  One arrest, involving 48-year-old Peter Heltzel of New York City; resulted in an trooper being injured.  

New York State Police say Heltzel resisted arrest and both he and the trooper were treated at Albany Memorial Hospital.  

Heltzel was held at Albany County Jail overnight, awaiting his arraignment Tuesday.

More protests are planned for the coming weeks.
