A Colonie cop was taken to Albany Med Saturday afternoon after a high speed chase and crash. Police say 28 year old Tommy Ehlers of Schenectady was spotted speeding down the median on Central Ave around 4 o'clock. When the car slowed for traffic near Tanglewood Road, the Colonie Police Sergeant attempted to stop the 2008 Cadillac. At that time, Ehlers allegedly sped away, striking a police car near Dott Ave. The Police officer in that car was transported to Albany Med and later released. Ehlers faces several charges, including assault, reckless endangerment and DWAI.
