FROM THE COLONIE POLICE:
On Wednesday the Colonie Police Department, with assistance from the New York State Police, conducted an investigation into prostitution related activities in the Town of Colonie.
Undercover investigators utilized on-line websites and/or social media platforms to arrange meetings at location(s) within the Town of Colonie.
Five men were arrested for Patronizing a Prostitute and three women were arrested for Prostitution after agreeing to pay or receive money for sexual acts.
Recent intelligence from town residents/businesses, tips to the Capital Region Crime Stoppers and media reporting of similar activity in other local jurisdictions led to this investigation being conducted.
