Nominations Are Open For The 2019 Albany Tulip Queen

Tulip Festival

While The Capital Region will be getting some snow on Monday night, The City of Albany is looking ahead to Spring!

Nominations are now open for the 2019 Tulip Queen and Court.

The tradition, which dates back to the 1940's, invites members of the community to nominate young women who have a strong sense of community, are knowledgeable in the Albany area and its history and possess leadership skills.

The 2019 Tulip Queen will serve as Albany's ambassador for one full year. Nominees must be between the ages of 18 and 24 and reside in Albany County for their entire year of reign (May 2019 through May 2020).

The Tulip Queen will be awarded a $5,000 scholarship and each member of the Court will receive a $1,500 scholarship.

To nominate an exceptional young woman, visit www.albanytulipqueen.com, or send a letter detailing the candidate's qualifications and their contact information to:

Albany Tulip Queen Selection Committee

City Hall, Room 402

24 Eagle Street

Albany, NY 12207

The Queen will be crowned at the Tulip Festival on May 11th. Nominations are due by April 5th.
