NYRA CEO & President Chris Kay Resigns

The New York Racing Association announced that it has accepted the resignation of CEO & President Chris Kay, effective  immediately.

No official reason has been given by NYRA, but multiple sources are telling the Daily Racing Form that Kay used NYRA employees to do private work for him at the house that he owns in Saratoga, which is considered a breach of company policy.

There were several major initiatives added at the Saratoga Race Course, including a new three story building that will be completed by the start of the next racing season that will replace the "At the Rail" pavilion. The building will be known as the "1863 club" which  recalls the early days of racing at the Saratoga Race Course .

This past season, Kay opened up "The Stretch," a new addition to the Grandstand that features amenities and innovations that will help the track attract younger fans.

David O'Rourke has been named interim CEO. .
