One person is dead after a massive fire early Thursday morning in Slingerlands.
The fire broke out at Meadowbrook apartments on Meadowbrook Drive. Eight units were involved, seven were apartments, one was an office.
Bethlehem police commander Adam Hornick says "We can confirm at this point that one individual has perished in this fire, we've located the body of an adult."
The body will undergo an autopsy at Albany Med.
Authorities say the building was not equipped with sprinklers due to its age. National Grid was called in to shut off the gas to the area.
The Red Cross is setting up a support center in the complex's clubhouse. They are currently aiding about 20 people, but expect to help more.
There are reports of two injuries, one person was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
