ICYMI: The difference between Enhanced, Real ID & Standard Driver License

Beginning October 1, 2020 your driver license, permit or ID card must be REAL ID compliant if you choose to use it as your identification to board a domestic flight. While that is just over a year away, it will be here sooner than you think. New York State DMV has put together this video that details the differences between the Standard, REAL ID and Enhanced Driver's Licenses to help you choose which is best for you. You can also fill in the DMV questionnaire to find which is right for you.

The REAL ID is not mandatory but it is encouraged. If you have a valid passport, that is already compliant and can be used to board a domestic flight.
