Albany County Executive Dan McCoy holding a briefing Friday morning updating the community on the latest coronavirus cases in Albany County.
As of today the county has 70 confirmed positive cases. 283 people are under mandatory quarantine while over 500 are under precautionary quarantine.
Yesterday the amount of tests performed in the county reached over 1,000.
McCoy urged those who had previously stocked up on essential items like Clorox wipes and face masks to bring them to local hospitals or get them to McCoy's office and they will arrange for them to be delivered to the hospital. This call comes as healthcare workers across the capital region and the state are running out of supplies.
Additionally McCoy called on President Trump to send supplies including test kits as local hospitals are running out. Albany Medical Center and St. Peter's have stopped their drive-thru testing.
