A new drive-thru COVID-19 testing site is scheduled to open Monday at the UAlbany uptown campus. The new mobile drive-thru testing facility made possible in part thanks to Albany Medical Center and St. Peter’s Health Partners is located at the Colonial Quad parking lot of the University at Albany (SUNY) main campus, 1400 Washington Avenue. The site will be open starting Monday, April 6 at 10am, and hours going forward will be every day of the week from 8am to 6pm. There will be no walk-ins allowed and all patients must be in a vehicle with an appointment made ahead of time by calling 888-364-3065. Those who have the highest risk of contracting COVID-19 will be prioritized.

At today's briefing Albany County Executive Dan McCoy expressed relief to return to regular testing in the county. The county reported 24 additional confirmed positive cases of COVID 19, bringing the county's total to 278. McCoy acknowledges lack of widespread testing over the last few weeks makes that number misleading and suggests the county could have "well over 500 at this point, if not higher".
