A' Back the Blue' rally will be held today at the State Capitol in Albany.
The event organized on Facebook has gotten thousands of responses.
Local legislators will also be at the rally to present a Back the Blue proclamation.
“Our law enforcement officers bravely and selflessly put their lives on the line every day to protect us and our communities, and we owe them the utmost respect and gratitude,” said Minority Leader Frank Mauriello.
“We need to give law enforcement the tools and resources they need, so they can effectively perform their duties and weed out the few bad apples in uniform. The vast majority of our law enforcement officers are courageous, compassionate, and honorable people with a staunch devotion to the public and their communities.”
The rally begins at 10am.
