University at Albany President Havidan Rodriguez and Albany County Executive Dan McCoy will hold a news conference today to discuss a spike in coronavirus cases at the school.

The college was notified yesterday by the Albany County Health Department that there have been 40 positive COVID-19 tests among students since the semester began. 31 of those infections were revealed in the last couple of days. Officials say if things don't improve soon, in-person activities on campus could be suspended.
