Officials gathered Wednesday, calling for Governor Cuomo and the State Department of Corrections to take action to stop the spread of COVID-19 within the Greene County Correctional Facility.
Currently there are 96 active positive cases in the county with 65 connected to Greene Correctional. Assemblyman Chris Tague says the spread between the facility and the community is similar to infections at another similar facility. Visits ceased at Greene Correctional Wednesday afternoon and all inmate movement and transportation in and out of the facility was halted. Free testing is also being offered to the staff.
