City leaders and law enforcement are responding to recent violence in Albany.

There have been nearly 120 people shot and 11 have died in the city. The Albany County District Attorney's Office has had to restructure their work model to comply with COVID-19 protocols. Albany County DA David Soares says that between the changes related to COVID and criminal justice reforms from the state of New York, closing cases has become a longer process. Soares says the city has a closure rate of 20% for gun shooting cases which is similar to cities like Chicago and Baltimore.
