Nearly $8 Million in Fed Money to Capital Region to Fight Opioid Epidemic

Capital Region communities are set to receive funds to help combat substance abuse disorder as the opioid epidemic grows during the pandemic.

Counties and courts within the Capital Region will be receiving over $7.8 million dollars in federal money to help combat substance abuse disorder. The Department of Justice is providing the funds which will fund local or statewide programs that focus on those struggling with addictions as well as delivering treatments. Albany Court will be receiving almost $900,000 to expand their recovery services.
